Library Orientation programme  and “Know your library” book exhibition held on 27thAugust 2019


To begin with, two days long “LIBRARY ORIENTATION PROGRAMME” was organized as usual for new admitted students on 27th & 28th August 2019. This programme was aimed at educating the new students about the important role of library in widening their mental horizon and to tell them, that reading good books was   must.  This programme   was organized   in two   parts,   which      included   “Instructional” under which guidelines and instructions on how to make the best use of the library services were given. Second part of this programme was personal contact programme in which all the students were taken round the library to acquaint them with the layout, setup and wealth of the library. All the students were taken round the library by the library staff to make them aware about the arrangement of books, how to locate the same and how to use the OPAC to search the location of a book.

BOOK EXHIBITION:
           
Library department has a healthy tradition of organizing “Know  Your Library” book exhibition  objective of this exhibition  was to make the students aware of library collection.

DISPLAY BOARDS:   Audio visual section of the library displays current information on various aspects e.g. information relating to health, career, religion, Amazing facts etc.

Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Rosy Walia Joshi inaugurated the book exhibition. She appreciated the efforts of the library staff.  She shared her life experience and said that the library is an asset of an institution. She advised the students to read as much books as they can during their stay in the college to succeed in life and make the best use of the college library in realizing their full potential.  More than 750 students attended the programme.

The students and faculty members of this college visited the book exhibition and appreciated the efforts of the library staff.
