BOOKMARK MAKING COMPETITION

 

21st October 2021, Chandigarh. The Best out of Waste Society in collaboration with Library Outreach Society organized a Bookmark Making Competition on 21st October at 11 AM in Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46 Chandigarh. The competition was held in the Reference Section of the College Library based on the theme of 'Library/Books/Reading' and twenty two students actively participated in it. The event was organized to encourage the students to read books and show their ingenuity and talent in art and craft. The Vice-Principal of the college Dr.Simmi Arora encouraged the students by telling them about scaling, shape and designing of bookmarks and by giving innovative ideas on the theme. She also gave the example of Dr. Kumud who used street food packages as a form of still art. She told the students that ideas should be generated through creativity and thought enhancement. The first prize was bagged by Khem Prasad Roll No 6621/20 of BA Second Year, the second prize was won by Sakshi Roll No 6027/20 of BA Second Year and the third prize was awarded to Arun Roll No 936/19 of BA Third Year.

Library department organized various library related competitions (Virtual Mode) in the month of December 2020 with the sole objective of connecting with the college students, making them library minded and to inculcate in them love and interest for reading of good books.  29 students participated.
